A night firefighting game over a luxury development in Ordino: fly the helicopter, fill the bucket in the river and save the flats before they burn down.

A firefighting game set at night over a luxury development in Ordino, where the billboard keeps selling flats while they burn. Free to play in the browser on itch.io, on desktop and mobile, and open source under the MIT licence.

The fire

Fire climbs from floor to floor and jumps between three rows of buildings, faster downwind. Every flat has an asking price, from 2.4 million euros up, and the score counts what you saved against what burned.

The helicopter

You fly down to the river and sink the bucket to fill it, then drop the water on the burning windows. The bucket swings on its rope and the wind pushes the water sideways. Smoke damages the helicopter, so you fly low to aim and high to stay safe. A supply truck brings slightly bigger buckets, the French firefighters come to help now and then, the old men have opinions, the neighbours film it all and the estate agent never stops selling.

How it is built

  • Night lighting on a 2D canvas, with one light per building so the whole block can burn at 60 fps
  • Over twenty synthesised sounds (rotor, water, sirens, fire) and two action themes, random or fixed
  • Spanish, Catalan and English, with drag-to-fly and a water button on mobile
  • React, TypeScript and Vite, with the game logic separated from rendering and covered by tests
  • Every GitHub release builds the itch.io zip, which is also what andorranos.com embeds
