Stack the Rent
A satirical tower stacker about Andorran housing: build the tallest block you can while helicopters bomb it, climbers hack at it and the rent climbs with every floor.
A tower stacker about the housing market in Andorra, where every floor you add pushes the rent up and half the country is trying to bring the building down. Free to play in the browser on itch.io, on desktop and mobile, and open source under the MIT licence.

The tower
Floors swing on a crane and you drop them onto the block. Whatever overhangs gets trimmed off, so a sloppy drop leaves a narrower floor for the next one. The better you line them up, the taller it gets, and the rent goes up with every floor.
Everyone against it
The GOAT (Group Organized Against Towers) sends helicopters to bomb the tower down, and you shoot them before they hit. Climbers abseil down the sides and hack at it with ice axes. When you run out of workers, you open the border from the CCTV camera to let more in. Golden union rep blocks trigger strikes and collective agreements, and the old men on the ladders watch the whole thing and comment.
How it is built
- Pixel art in black and white, drawn on a 2D canvas with a fixed 60 Hz loop
- Synthesised sound effects and two music tracks, random or fixed from the settings
- Spanish, Catalan and English, with on-screen buttons for mobile
- React, TypeScript and Vite, with the game logic separated from rendering and covered by tests
- Every GitHub release builds the itch.io zip, which is also what andorranos.com embeds
